Celebrating Forty-One Baptisms

September 15, 2024

Yesterday, we had the incredible privilege of witnessing 41 people take the next step in their faith journey through baptism at both of our Grace Free Church locations. Each baptism represents a personal story of transformation, a public declaration of faith, and a reminder of God’s work in our lives. It was an unforgettable moment for us.

At its heart, baptism is a symbol of new life and hope. We are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to witness so many individuals making this public profession of faith. It is truly a testament to God’s work in our church and in the lives of these individuals. We continue to pray for them as they grow in their relationship with Christ and as we walk alongside them in this next chapter of their spiritual journey.

Work Underway On New Patio Area

September 9, 2024

Exciting changes are underway as we begin work on our new patio area! This space, located outside the main entrance, is designed to be both functional and inviting. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters personal connections and a welcoming atmosphere for all. The patio will also make it easier for first-time guests to locate the main entrance, offering clear and comfortable access to our building.

These updates are part of a broader effort to create a visually appealing and engaging outdoor area that catches the attention of passersby on Route 61, and demonstrate our intentional focus on community. Whether you’re arriving for the first time or returning, we hope this new space will serve as a central point for connection and hospitality, both before and after our services.

New Phone System Implemented

August 30, 2024

We’re excited to announce that our growing church has implemented a brand-new phone system to enhance communication and make it easier for you to connect with us. This upgrade includes a phone tree designed to streamline your experience, allowing you to quickly find the information you need or reach the right person. Whether you’re looking for service times, event details, or specific ministries, our new system will guide you to the right resources with ease.

In addition to simplifying the process of accessing information, our new phone system also provides a more direct path for communication with our key staff members. You can now reach staff directly through specific phone extensions, ensuring that you’re always able to get the support you need.

With multiple locations across our church, we understand the importance of seamless communication. Our new phone system makes it easier to connect with staff and resources across all locations, so you can feel confident that help is just a phone call away, no matter where you are.

We’re committed to improving how we serve our church community, and this new phone system is just one of the many ways we’re working to make sure you feel connected and supported every step of the way.

Orwigsburg Building Plan Announced

August 28, 2024

Welcome to an exciting new chapter in the life of Grace Free Church!

We are thrilled to announce a few changes to our new building located at 10 Hollenbush Lane in Orwigsburg, which will serve as the central location for our growing community. Our vision has always been clear and focused: to be a church that is for Jesus, for Schuylkill County, for your friends and family who don’t attend church, and for you.

The decision to transition to a new building comes with a heartfelt commitment to our mission. Our primary goal is to reach more people with the message of Jesus Christ, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment that speaks to both churched and unchurched individuals in our community. This new space is not just a physical change; it represents a fresh, distinct, and recognizable expression of who we are as Grace Free Church.

Our new building will be a place where everyone feels at home, whether they are long-time members of Grace Free Church, members of Lighthouse Church, or stepping through our doors for the first time. It is designed to foster meaningful connections, inspire spiritual growth, and offer a sanctuary where the love of Jesus can be experienced by all.

Join us in this transformative journey as we move into a space that is crafted to embody our vision and culture and is dedicated to serving Schuylkill County and beyond. Together with those joining us from the Lighthouse Church, we will continue to be a beacon of hope, love, and community in this new and exciting setting.

A Message from Pastor Josh

August 12, 2024

On August 6th, 2024 the Board of Lighthouse Church and the Elder Board of Grace Free Church gathered at Lighthouse Church to sign the Agreement of Merger documents, finalizing the union of our two churches. Our legal counsel has filed these documents with the County and Commonwealth.

Effective September 1st, 2024, Grace Free Church will assume leadership and our two congregations will unite as one church under the ministry and leadership of Grace Free Church. This fall, Grace Free Church - Cressona will be transitioning to 10 Hollenbush Lane, Orwigsburg.

For those of you who have been a part of the The Lighthouse Church, we are so happy to welcome you into the Grace Free Church family!

For those of you who call Grace Free Church - Cressona your home, all we anticipate changing is the location of your services. This will be the same great church God has gifted us with on the same mission he has called us to.

For those of you who call Grace Free Church - Tremont your home, you'll still be part of the same amazing services each Sunday with no changes.

And if you've never been to Grace Free Church before, we invite you to visit us next Sunday! You'll find a welcoming church full of imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable. We can't wait to meet you!

Our responsibility as leaders is to continue the mission God has given us while caring deeply and shepherding all those entrusted to our care. This is not a calling we take lightly. As we move forward, we look forward to building friendships, fostering fellowship, and serving together as we watch God do amazing things in our congregation and community.

This union is a beautiful reflection of the unity Jesus prayed we would have. We are one church, whether you attend Tremont, Cressona, or Lighthouse. We are a church that is for Jesus, for Schuylkill County, for your friends and family who don’t attend church, and for you! No matter who you are or where you've been, this is a place where you are loved.

Before signing the documents, our combined boards took some time to reflect. It was heartening to listen to perspectives on how God has moved both churches to this point. Clearly this is God’s plan and His way of providing for the needs of both Lighthouse Church and Grace Free Church.

While change can be challenging, we know that God is faithful through all that has changed and will change. I am excited about what this next chapter will bring.

We are working hard to make the move-in day as soon as possible and will keep you informed every step of the way. Starting September 1st many of our small groups and ministries will begin to meet in the Orwigsburg building. For now, please continue to pray for this transition, for our church, and for our leaders.
